Welcome to the Gallery
of the Miniature Models of the Pre-Cinema Period Cinematographic Equipment.
The exposition represents the miniature models of such cinematographic equipment as
"ERNEMANN" (Austria),
"CINEMECANICA" (Italy),
"ERNST PLANK" (Germany), and
"AMERICAN MUTOSCOPE" (USA).
All the models of this exposition were made of wood and metal. Their parts, including the optics, were made under the microscope and the magnifying glass, to enlarge the image a 20-40 times, and they look and work as those in the original equipment. This exposition was shown at the exhibitions in the Museum of the History of the Development of the World Cinematographic Technology and in the movie theatres in Kiev, Ukraine. It was a great commercial success. Because the exposition is unique, it was of great interest for the people of different age groups and social levels.
The Museum of the History of the Development of the World Cinematographic Technology, which photo you can see in the Gallery, is the only museum of this kind in Ukraine. Its opening in February 2007 in Kiev was an important event in the cultural life of the Ukrainian capital. I was the founder, the restorer, and the curator of this museum.
